God's people will never end: A member of parliament resigned from his position after he found out that his election was rigged




 A politician in Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, who won a seat in the country's recent elections, resigned from his post, saying that his election was rigged.


 Rehman of the Jamaat-e-Islami party was announced as the winner of the PS-129 provincial assembly seat in Karachi after getting more than 26 thousand votes.


 But Rehman said he discovered that the votes cast for Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate supported by Saif Bari's party were reduced to 11,000 instead of 31,000 during the polls.  collected as a result of the votes cast in the polling stations.

In a press conference held by his party on Monday, BBC quoted Rehman as saying: "If someone wants to make us win by rigging the election, we will not accept that."

 He said that while he got more than 26,000 votes, independent candidate Saif Bari, who is supported by PTI, got 31,000 votes - but it was said that he got 11,000 votes.


 Pakistan's election authorities have denied the allegations.


 It is not known who will take the seat of PS-129 now.
